Nina Petek, assistant lecturer in Philosophy at Ljubljana University is a researcher of Indian and Buddhist aesthetics and philosophy. As part of her present research project, she has visited communities in the remote Zanskar Valley of the Ladakh region in India which Buddhist yogis and yoginis from the surrounding barren mountains visit at certain times of the year. The lecturer presented the history of the yogic tradition leading back to Milarepa and how the yogis and yoginis take part in present day Ladakhi society as community building force.
