In August 2019 our department hosted the Modern Hindi Workshop in Hungary's Mánfa near Pécs city in the serene surroundings of the Mecsek hills. The chief guest of the event was the famous Hindi poetess, novel and short story author Smt. Mamta Kalia, which is indeed an honour for us.   अगस्त २०१९ में हमारे विभाग के सहयोग से आधुनिक हिन्दी शिविर हंगरी में पेच शहर के समीप, मनोरम मैचेक पहाड़ियों की गोद में स्थित मानफा गाँव में संभव हुआ। इस आयोजन की मुख्य अतिथि विख्यात कवयत्री एवं लेखिका, अनेक कहानियों व उपन्यासों की रचनाकार श्रीमती ममता कालिया जी थीं, यह हमारा सौभाग्य है।   This was a part of the events made possible by the many over-the-border bondings within the worldwide Indian Studies community. / यह भारत के अध्येताओं के वैश्विक कुटुंब के संबंधों से जन्म लेते कई कार्यक्रमों में एक कड़ी मात्र थी।

Our department is a founding member of three truly international summer schools, namely the Sanskrit Summer Retreat, the Braj Workshop and the Modern Hindi Workshop. In these biennal get-togethers—organized in India and other countries either in Europe or the Far East where Sanskrit and Hindi are taught and researched—the modern gurus of their respective field meet the young scholars of the field in an informal setting, mostly at a peaceful place in the countryside for approximately two weeks. We read texts sitting at a round table or in the grass with legs folded and immerse ourselves in literature to discuss or debate as scholars do.

हमारा विभाग तीन, शत प्रतिशत अन्तरराष्ट्रीय स्वभाव के ग्रीष्मकालीन शिविरों के संस्थापकों में गिना जाता है, जैसे संस्कृत ग्रीष्माश्रम, ब्रज कार्यशाला तथा आधुनिक हिन्दी शिविर। इनका आयोजन भारत में, या यूरोप अथवा सुदूर पूर्व के उन देशों में होता है, जहाँ संस्कृत और हिन्दी पढ़ाई जाती हैं और उनपर शोध भी किया जाता है। यहाँ, प्रायः प्रकृति के निकट कहीं एक मनोरम देहाती स्थल पर गुरुजन अपने अध्ययन क्षेत्र के युवाओं, भावी विद्वानों से मिलते हैं, मिलकर उनके साथ गोलमेज़ पर या घास में पालथी जमाए एक घेरे में बैठ साहित्यिक पाठ पढ़ते हुए मित्रभाव से विचार-विमर्श करते हैं।
